In the edit
If you already use App Cleaner & Uninstaller or Duplicate File Finder on their own, MacCleaner Pro bundles them together with a few extra tools. Version 4.0.2 keeps the same six-in-one approach while tightening up a couple of detection areas.
App Cleaner & Uninstaller — removes apps and their leftover service files.
Disk Space Analyzer — maps out what is taking up room on your drives.
Duplicate File Finder PRO — finds and deletes duplicate files and folders.
Funter — reveals hidden files and toggles their visibility.
Additional tools — duplicate-file finding, disk analysis, memory cleaning, and hidden-file tools round out the core bundle.
A freelance designer's two-week run without restarting
Picture a freelance graphic designer working from a flat in Hackney. She keeps client files on her internal drive because external SSDs get lost in coffee shops, and her Mac has been running for two weeks straight without a restart. One morning, she gets the dreaded Startup Disk Full notification just as she is about to export a set of print-ready posters.
Instead of hunting through the Finder manually, she opens Disk Space Analyzer and lets it scan the drive. The memory cleaner knocks back the inactive RAM that had built up from those apps. She frees enough space to finish the export without moving a single file to an external drive.
That scenario is exactly what this bundle is built for: a handful of small problems that together become a big annoyance, solved in one sitting.
How it works alongside macOS's own storage tools
MacCleaner Pro does not replace macOS utilities like Storage Management or Activity Monitor, but it does sit alongside them in a useful way. The Finder's own Get Info panel shows you file sizes one at a time, while Disk Space Analyzer gives you a tree view of the whole drive. The macOS built-in uninstaller leaves behind preference files and caches; App Cleaner & Uninstaller PRO hunts for those leftovers in ~/Library and beyond. Funter is especially handy if you work with .gitignore files or .env configuration files that macOS keeps hidden by default — toggling visibility from Funter is quicker than running defaults write commands in Terminal.
Memory Cleaner works well alongside your normal workflow, too. It does not replace the memory pressure graph in Activity Monitor, but it gives you a one-click way to flush inactive RAM when you are about to open a heavy app like Final Cut or Logic Pro. I keep it in the menu bar and click it before I launch anything resource-heavy.
Will MacCleaner Pro interfere with Time Machine backups
Will this interfere with Time Machine backups?
No. MacCleaner Pro does not touch Time Machine snapshots or backup data. It works on your main drive and attached volumes, leaving backup sets alone.
Do I need to use all six tools at once?
Not at all. You can open only the tool you need for the task at hand. The suite is installed together, but each app runs independently. If you only want to scan for duplicates one afternoon, you can launch just Duplicate File Finder PRO and ignore the rest.
Is it safe to delete files that Disk Space Analyzer shows as "large"?
Disk Space Analyzer shows you where the space is going, but it does not delete anything on its own. You decide what to remove. The tool flags system folders and cache directories so you know what you are looking at, but the final choice is yours.
Does it work with iCloud Drive?
Version 4.0.2 improved detection of items stored in an iCloud folder, so files that live in iCloud Drive and have local copies are now identified more reliably. That is useful if you keep a lot of documents synced across devices and want to clear local copies of files you no longer need offline.
Will it speed up an old Mac?
Freeing disk space and clearing inactive memory can make an older Mac feel more responsive, especially if the drive was nearly full or if memory pressure was high. It is not a substitute for more RAM or a faster SSD, but it can help avoid the slowdowns that come from a crowded system.
The one-click trick to hide your Library folder again
Funter does more than show hidden files. It also lets you hide files again with a single click, which is handy if you accidentally reveal your entire Library folder and want to tuck it back out of sight. The toggle lives in the menu bar, so you do not need to open a full window every time.
App Cleaner & Uninstaller PRO scans for leftover files from apps you already deleted months ago. Even if you used the macOS Trash to remove an app, this tool can find orphaned preferences, caches, and support files that are still taking up space. It is worth running a scan after a big cleanup session just to catch what the Trash missed.
Memory Cleaner shows a small graph in its menu bar icon, so you can keep an eye on memory pressure without opening the app. The graph updates in real time and turns a different colour when pressure is high — a quiet heads-up that it might be time to clear inactive RAM.
Duplicate File Finder PRO lets you preview files before deleting them. If you are cleaning up old photo libraries and see two copies of DSC_1234.jpg, you can open a quick preview to check which one has the higher resolution or the correct metadata before you hit delete. That saves you from accidentally removing the version you actually want.
One more thing that is easy to overlook: the suite does not require activation. You install it, you use it. No account creation, no licence key entry, no online check. For a bundle of six tools, that is a refreshingly straightforward approach.
The suite runs on macOS 10.13 and later, with full support for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Interface language is English.
